I can’t believe that these past 10-12 days (I really lost count of these past days because I had way to much fun) in Hong Kong have passed already. I am really grateful that I had the opportunity to spend my time with my grandparents and relatives in Hong Kong. My visit has allowed me to learn more about my grandparents and about the culture that surrounds the people of Hong Kong. Going out to explore the streets of Hong Kong island and MTR’s underground world have given me the chance to see how fast paced and brilliant most people’s minds are in Hong Kong. A recap of my trip in H.K will come soon. I am now in Dong Yuan Hotel (东园宾馆 on 廣州市越秀區東湖北路30號) in Guangzhou right now, getting ready for my educational exchange program with the students of a prestigious high school in Guangzhou. In this upcoming 2 week trip, I, along with 39 other students from the US, will be able to “promote intercultural communication between Chinese and American high school and college students, visit a local school & be encouraged to stay with a host family to experience authentic Chinese culture, and tutor English to local students through a series of discussions about educational, social, cultural and environmental issues.” I cannot wait to meet my host family in the next 3 days and stay with them for a week!
